Additional Help
On this page you will find a description of the structure of radio-portal, especially for blind users.
The start page offers two search functions: In the upper part a phrase search is offered, the following part a search in categories.
The detail search enables you to find contents which can be described unambiguously by a search phrase.
The search within categories offers the opportunity to get an overview on certain fields of interest.
Data Input
Elements of the phrase search
The following input options are offered:
In the first field you may enter a search string; if it consists of several words, they have to be separated by a blank. The Submit-Button follows.
In the following line there are three so called Radio-Buttons, offering the functions EXACT - AND - OR. With these operators you can combine several words. Stand value is AND.
Now a choice of a optional category follows - the first menue differs between IN ALL - ONLY IN - NOT IN, the second contains the more than 30 categories to choose from.
Finally there are two menues for the language of the webpages in question (ALL is default) and the number of search results. Standard is 20 URLs per page, alternatively you may choose 10 or 50.
A link below this form leads directly to an extensive description of the mentioned search options, inclusive examples.
Elements of the category search
First you will find a link to an extensive description of the category search; the form offers the following options:
In three menues two categories can be combined by an operator. The first one contains the categories, which can be connected by the operators AND IN - OR IN - NOT IN with a category you may choose from the third menue.
Again two menues follow, with the language of the webpages in question (ALL is default) and the number of search results. Standard is 20 URLs per page, alternatively you may choose 10 or 50.
The Submit-Button for the category search is the last element of this form.
Here you find a link Back to the English start page. Finally a hint: An Advanced Search with powerful options may be reached via the Navigation Bar of radio-portal; all functions of this page are described there separately also.
